NCInnovation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting North Carolina public university research with commercial potential. NCInnovation grants aim to bridge the critical funding gap known as the "valley of death" by providing funding and support services that help researchers navigate industry engagement and move their projects from proof-of-concept to commercialization. This support is essential for advancing innovative research to market and fostering economic growth in North Carolina.
- NCInnovation’s application is open to researchers at all 16 UNC System universities. Grant awards are expected to be in the six-figure range, awarded in phases, with a maximum duration of two years. Projects must be at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 3 or higher.
