The Quality Matters (QM) Faculty Fellowship program has been designed to create a network of practitioners who can apply evidence and practice-based standards for quality course design to enhance online and hybrid courses at UNCW.
As a Faculty Fellow, you will work collaboratively with an instructional designer to prepare one of your existing online or hybrid courses for official QM-certification. You will also have the opportunity to engage in QM faculty development, collaborate with colleagues, and give back to the online learning community through campus outreach opportunities.
Timeline
The fellowship program will run from Fall 2025 - Summer 2026. QM Faculty Fellows will be expected to serve for all three academic semesters (Fall/Spring/Summer).

Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Have completed QM’s “Applying the QM Rubric” (APPQMR) workshop before the start of the fellowship OR be willing to complete APPQMR by November 2025.
- Be tenure-track faculty or full-time lecturers who have taught either an online or hybrid course within the past 18-months.
- Designed and developed the course you intend to submit for QM certification (or have autonomy to make changes to the course) as part of the fellowship program.
- Be committed to completing all requirements of the fellowship program.
