CHSSA majors build a vision for their future amid a culture of academic excellence, hands-on learning experience and holistic support. When they meet a mentor through CHSSA Connect, they take an important first step in building their professional network and their perspective on what’s possible after graduation.
What We Do
CHSSA Connect aims to ensure students are “next step ready” for a career, grad school or another path. Students will:
Dive into hands-on and engaging learning experiences, including study abroad opportunities, internships, practicums and high-impact curriculum across all programs.
Learn how best to showcase and explain their skills to future employers/graduate programs.
Gain access to a mentoring network of faculty, graduates and community partners.
Develop plans for life after a degree.
Exploring Pathways After Graduation
Alexander Batten ‘26 talked through potential next steps after graduation with his mentor, Shah Soligné '19, to get a better idea of what professional pathways he wants to explore.
CHSSA Connect pairs current students with alumni and community leaders who are eager to share their experience and insight. Mentors make a meaningful impact by guiding students as they explore career possibilities, build professional skills and gain confidence in their path forward.
We recruit enthusiastic professionals who have earned degrees represented in the college. Mentors meet one-on-one with students once a month, virtually or in person according to their schedules. Our college provides orientation, support and broader CHSSA Connect networking opportunities throughout the year.
Unsure about grad school? Want to learn what it’s really like working your dream job? Or get some extra professional guidance from someone working in your field?
CHSSA Connect will put you in touch with a mentor who’s been selected to match your goals, field or questions you might have. You’ll meet with them regularly throughout the year and gain access to broader CHSSA Connect networking events.
