New DRC Students

If you are a student with a disability, you are encouraged to begin enrollment with the DRC so accommodations are granted prior to the start of classes. 

Tips for a Successful Application Submission

• When completing the Application use:
  • a laptop or desktop computer, 
  • a secure network connection ("guest" networks do not meet our minimum IT security requirements),
  • complete the application in one sitting, under 10 minutes. 
  • After hitting submit, if you do not receive a confirmation email and immediate pop-up message, your form did not go through. Please contact DRC@uncw.edu if this happens.

1. Student Portal 
   • Log on to the DRC Student Portal using your UNCW email and password.
2. Application
   • Complete the online "Application" form and upload recent evaluations or documentation.
   • DRC staff will review your submitted information within 5-10 business days (not including holidays).
   • Insufficient or incomplete documentation may delay your review.
   • Once reviewed, you will receive an email outlining your next steps which may include scheduling an enrollment meeting.
3. Next Steps
   • After receiving your next steps email, follow through with any instructions or additional steps needed to complete enrollment with the DRC.

• Summer 2025
  • Enrollment meetings will begin after May 1, 2025.
  • You must register for summer classes before scheduling your enrollment meeting.
• Fall 2025
  • Enrollment meetings will begin after June 1, 2025.
  • You must attend orientation and register for fall classes before scheduling your enrollment meeting.
• Spring 2026
  • Enrollment meetings will begin after December 1, 2025.
  • You must register for spring classes before scheduling your enrollment meeting.
